Exercise for Seniors

Not everyone has the same fitness regimen. Marathon trainers don't spend a lot of time at the weights, and musclemen aren't often found on the treadmill. Some like the gym, some like the sidewalk, some need fitness buddies and some prefer to be alone. People are different, and their exercise schedules are the same way – different.

That's why Avamere Riverpark of Eugene puts a lot of importance on the fact that we don't all need the same things in our exercise routine. When we have a long-term resident, we set them up on a program designed for them individually. These types of programs are mainly crafted to help keep our seniors vibrant and active. When we have a short-term resident, however, we go about it a little differently. We provide a more intensive rehab fitness – designed to heal and restore physical ailments.

Some people don't understand the benefits of exercising as we age – not only does it keep us fit, but it keeps us upbeat, less likely to become depressed and overall vibrant and refreshed.
